Network Aims

Capacity building of network members and training of relevant practitioners

  • by fostering knowledge-transfer and exchange of good practices among the member organisations,
  • by creating and publicizing training opportunities on the work with perpetrators, as well as platforms and events to discuss current or controversial issues in this area of work,
  • by developing, reviewing and updating evidence-based best practice guidelines and standards for interventions,
  • by promoting that programmes develop in line with these standards,
  • by promoting the delivery of linked safety & support services for victims and survivors of violence, placed within a coordinated community response.

Contributing to the development and implementation of EU laws and policies

  • by complementing the activities of the European Commission to support their combat against violence in close relationships,
  • by following Article 16 of the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence (Istanbul Convention),
  • by promoting that European programmes take the safety of victims as primary concern and work in partnership and close coordination with support services.

Improving the organisational capacity and the management of the network

  • by building a strong, democratic, dynamic organization and improving processes of inter-European collaboration and strong networking,
  • by raising awareness in public and among stakeholders and policy makers of the importance of victim-safety oriented work with perpetrators within a coordinated community response.
