Social, healthcare and other frontline workers are often overwhelmed when they meet perpetrators of domestic violence. There is little guidance available on how to engage men using violence. In the ENGAGE project, partners developed resources for frontline workers on how to identify, talk to, motivate and refer perpetrators of domestic violence to specialised perpetrator programmes.
"The project successfully reached its results, delivered more than twice the number of trainings than originally planned. Strong dissemination and communication activities, particularly in the Eastern European and Central Asian region. I wish you every success in your future endeavours." - Daniela Bankier, EC JUST Head of Unit
The main result of the project, the ENGAGE Roadmap for frontline professionals interacting with male perpetrators of domestic violence and abuse helps frontline professionals, such as healthcare workers, social workers and others identify, talk to, motivate and refer perpetrators of domestic violence to specialised perpetrator programmes. Additionally, training materials developed during the projects enable perpetrator programmes to train frontline workers on the roadmap to increase well-prepared referrals to their services.
