This is the first Lifelong European Master’s degree focused on perpetrator intervention, allowing you to learn from renowned professors and experts from across Europe and beyond. It is an accredited lifelong-learning Master’s degree by Blanquerna, Ramon Llull University (Barcelona), co-led with the European Network for the Work with Perpetrators of Domestic Violence (WWP EN), and developed in collaboration with several European universities.

Presentation 

The objective of this lifelong-learning Master’s degree is to provide specialised training in perpetrator intervention for university graduates who wish to develop professional skills in working with perpetrators of domestic or sexual violence. 

It is especially intended for professionals in the social field, penitentiary settings, probation, and related areas who seek new tools and knowledge to intervene with offenders. 

Throughout the Master’s, students will learn practical tools for intervention, apply evidence-based approaches, and will be trained to design and evaluate different types of interventions with domestic violence perpetrators in various contexts. 

This Master’s degree is co-developed by Blanquerna, Ramon Llull University, and WWP EN. This collaboration brings together practice-based knowledge, academic expertise, and the support of several European universities.

Target Group 

This course is aimed at professionals in the social field who work or wish to work with perpetrators of gender-based violence. It is also aimed at students of psychology, criminology, social education, and other social sciences interested in this field. 

A university degree in the field of social sciences is required. 

The course coordination team will carry out the student admission process after analysing and evaluating all applications. Preference will be given to professionals who are already working in the sector. 

Programme Structure 

The Master’s degree is organised into 8 modules combining theoretical and practical content, each module integrates from 4 to 7 ECTS. Module 3 focuses on skills-building, and it includes an optional week of face-to-face training in Barcelona (this module has 14 ECTS). Students must also complete a 6‑ECTS Master’s Thesis.

Gender-based violence, domestic violence and introduction to programs for 

Module 2 (5 ECTS) – 17 November to 22 December (online).  

Skills for supporting victims of domestic violence 

Module 3 (14 ECTS) – 7 January to 2 February (online with optional in‑person training 25–29 January).  

Skills for working with perpetrators of domestic violence 

Module 4 (7 ECTS) – 4 to 11 February (online). 

Working with different categories of perpetrators 

Module 5 (6 ECTS) – 16 February to 9 March (online). 

Working with sexual offenders 

Module 6 (7 ECTS) – 11 March to 10 June (online). 

Research in Gender-based violence 

Module 7 (4 ECTS) – 6 to 22 April (online). 

Strategic Communication and Project Development 

Module 8 (4 ECTS) – 27 April to 20 May (online). 

Prevention of GBV recidivism (primary and quaternary prevention) 

Master’s Thesis (6 ECTS) – 6 October to 27 December (online).
