Critical Reflections on Online Perpetrator Programmes: Practitioners’ Experiences and Challenges

7 November 2025

10:00 - 11:00 CET

This webinar offers a space for critical reflection on the early experiences of developing and delivering online perpetrator programmes, with a strong focus on maintaining victim safety, ensuring men’s accountability, and supporting facilitators. While this work is still in its inceptional phase and far from consolidated practice, professionals across Europe have already gathered valuable insights into both the opportunities and risks of moving interventions into virtual spaces. Drawing on lessons learned from practice and insights from a recent mapping of online perpetrator programmes; the session will  highlight emerging practices, ongoing challenges, and key questions that remain open for further exploration.

The webinar will explore:

  • Current approaches in online perpetrator work in Europe.
  • Strategies and dilemmas in safeguarding victims and children in online perpetrator programmes.
  • Risks of men misusing virtual spaces during online perpetrator programmes — and how to manage them.
  • Early lessons on men’s engagement and accountability online.
  • Ways to support service providers’ wellbeing, competence, and resilience.
